On Monday, a suicide bomber in a bus that just arrived on Volgograd detonated an explosion the size of 500 TNT. Naida Asiyalova, a 30-year-old Russian native, detonated the bomb in the crowded city of Volgograd, which claimed six lives and injured 37 others. Naida Asiyalova is the wife of Dmitry Sokolov, who was a militant in the capital of Degestani, Makhachkala.
According to authorities investigating the suicide bombing, Asiyalova may have changed her plans the last minute. She was in the outskirts of Volgograd, but then she decided to return to Volgograd. They said it was possible she was looking for a more crowded place to detonate her payload.
Experts said that the bomb may possibly have been detonated through the use of a remote electronic detonator.
Apparently, Asiyalova had converted her husband to radical Islam. In turn her husband had joined a terrorist group in Dagestan. The 21 year old Sokolov is wanted for organizing other terrorist attacks aside from the Volgograd explosion.
Volgograd city and the entire country mourns the deaths of six people and had begun to donate blood to the 37 who were victims of the blast. Some of the victims of the blast were sent to Moscow for proper treatment of their critical conditions.
